Configuring Postfix to check (and act on) SPF records for incoming mail, and also SPF for your domain's outgoing mail. SPF, or Sender Policy Framework, is a way for domain owners to say: "these are the email servers my domain sends mail from; anyone else is attempting to impersonate me."

NIXSPAM More Information About Nixspam An up-to-date collection of spam emitting IP addresses: The iX blacklist is made of over 500,000 automatically generated entries per day without distinguishing open proxies from relays, dialup gateways, and so on. After 12 hours the IP address will be removed if there is no new spam from there.

Step 4: Now keep those spammers out. This is an optional step you might wish to consider: Use Fail2ban, and have it watching your mail log file. Postfix will perform DNS query against zen.spamhaus.org, and wait for the response code, only 127.0.0.2 to 127.0.0.11 are meaningful, so we use =127.0.0.[2..11] to tell Postfix only reject clients when we get those response code. I have a postfix mail server for our firm. The mails sent from this server to gmail and yahoo goes in spam.

After scoring the message, rspamd decides on an action based on configurable thresholds. By default, rspamd will tell postfix to reject any message with a score higher than 15. If you experience issues in scoring or want to stay on the safe side, you can disable this behaviour by tuning the configuration. For example: NiX Spam (nixspam) ix.dnsbl.manitu.net Lists single IP addresses (no address ranges) that send spam to spam traps. Lists mailhosts, rather than domains, and thus blocks entire hosting providers and ISPs. Automated listing due to spam trap hits.

If an unsolicited message or spam gets sent using a messaging system, then it is known as 2013-09-26 First, you need to find out how postfix is receiving those messages and why it's choosing to relay them (the two questions are very likely related). The best way to do it is by looking at the message ID of any one of the messages and then grepping the mail.log file for all log entries regarding it. Configure Postfix. Some spam checks can be configured with Postfix and/or SpamAssassin - but we recommend to do it NOT on both for performance reasons.

That mail server will work so well it’ll server up all the email and SPAM you want. But […] Of course you need to reload postfix now, so your changes take effect. Depending on your distribution, this is done by either service postfix reload, /etc/init.d/postfix reload, or a similar command. Step 4: Now keep those spammers out. This is an optional step you might wish to consider: Use Fail2ban, and have it watching your mail log file.
