Radiology nurses are registered nurses (RNs) who have completed special training in treating patients undergoing radiologic procedures. Their duties include assisting patients during testing to ensure their safety and comfort, and supervising their recovery to manage pain or any complications that may arise.
What education and training are required? Entry-level education for radiology nurses is an associate degree in nursing and an RN license. Because of patient complexity and range of acuity, nurses usually are required to have basic life support and advanced cardiac life support certifications (pediatric advanced life support is required for those who care for children).
